Chicken breast fillet cubed
Cheddar cheese cubed
Ham (fiesta, country or smoked) cubed
1 can medium sized mushrooms (drained and quartered)
1 can sweet corn (whole kernel drained)
1 can Campbell’s mushroom soup
Garlic mashed potatoes
Potatoes boiled (w/ or w/o skin)
Garlic (finely chopped)
Milk or Cream
1 envelope mushroom gravy
Boil cubed chicken breast in salt and water. Drain and cool. Add cheese, ham, corn, mushrooms, mushroom soup to chicken. Mix and arrange in a bowl or pan.
Boil potatoes until tender. Drain while still hot. Add garlic, butter, salt and pepper to taste. Add milk or cream. Mash together and top the chicken mixture.
Serve with gravy.
I like this recipe. it's hearty, but easy. You can make hundreds of variations by changing the mashed potatoes, combining and changing the cheeses and ham. It's pretty kewl for a Christmas Fridge-Velcro dish.

Your standard answers:
- “Fine. I have a male roommate I’m training to put the toilet seat down.”
- “It’s a different experience.”
- Pause. “Um…not bad.” Smile. “Not bad at all.”
- My favorite: “I’m fine thank you. And you?”
You don’t want to risk sounding too happy or you’ll seem smug.
You don’t wan’t to show any degree of anxiety, or they’ll BE smug.
You basically have your guard up all the time.
While still adjusting to the new partnership, one needs to be careful not to drown out one’s individualism and disappear into the oblivion of being abbreviated into a single letter “s” when people address you as “Mrs. Add His Name Here”.
Seems complicated, but it’s not bad. The truth is:
Domestic divahood is fun. Love the cookware. Love the new place. Love the husband.
But life is multifaceted. We keep going.
